Hood Canal rain/flood watch?

Post by lmcgill97 »

My buddy and I were planning to drive up from Oregon tomorrow to dive Sund Rock this weekend, but I just saw that heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow. For those that dive the Canal often, would that weather put you off due to the potential impact on viz? Or would you go for it? Thanks!

Sometimes, when you cross the river heading north towards hoodsport the river is high and muddy, and I have said to myself it will be terrible. And it is, in the layer of fresh water on the top 20 feet, but a lot (most) of times it opens up under that, although you need a light, it will be dark down there. In my opinion it's worth a go.

Thanks, nwbobber! I'm okay with daytime night dives, as long as it opens up some at depth :partydance:
