Had a great 1st visit to Day Island Wall, thanks to Penelopy, Bob and Pez! Wolf Eels everywhere, some good Octos, and plenty of other life. The highlights were 2 wolfies guarding eggs, and a red juvenile wolfie that I couldn't get a decent picture of. Sorry these pics don't look so good, but I had a problem with my camera buttons sticking and couldn't change any of my settings.

They weren't nearly so cooperative at showing me their eggs ... but I think I got some pretty nice pics from our dive.
Bottom time last night was 73 minutes, to a max depth of 78 fsw ... here's my photo show ...

I agree Day Is was pretty good to us too. I didn't expect much with as many divers as were there. I saw some behavior I hadnt seen before.
Do you think the two octos are fighting or flirting? I think one of them is missing an arm.
I have never seen wolfeels move their eggs around before. I assumed they were attached. It surprised me to see this male wolf eel take some of the eggs into his mouth. Ideas??

There were two gunnels hiding in that hole....
a few kicks down from this sailfin sculpin....
I lost count of which wolf eel this was....
And got distracted by this cleverly camouflaged stealth octo....
Thank you for the wonderful dive, gentlemen, we shall do it again!
