We usually swim out to the end of the jetty and find the rope heading off from there, or depending on the tide we might go out to the first buoy west of the jetty. Basically, if you follow any of the lines and take the time to explore the various structures, you should see tons of life, but a lot of it is pretty small so you have to go slow and look most everywhere. Then again, the occasional huge lingcod or cabezon will pop up and let you know there's big stuff there, as well.

I would usually start with some body of water and then go from there. :joshsmith:

Swim out to the buoy with the little flag on it, descend the buoy line and there will be plenty of structures to see. BIG FISH and BIG BOATS. swim around there, keep your bearings and work your way to shore. You will eventually find Jetty Way (heads in an east/west direction) that will lead you back to the Jetty(imagine that). The surface swim is a rough one, but it will give you the best opportunity to see what the park has to offer. Someone else may have more precise directions but thats how I rock the EUP.

Matt, why not go with one of the experienced folks here to show you around? Great way to meet someone new and learn the lay of the park first hand. (there's a map on the outside bathroom wall you can review together). I could go afterwork this week, maybe Wednesday.
