Northwest Dive Club

Just a quick heads up to y'all that we've made a small addition to the ToS regarding solicitations on the site,

Any solicitation for donations or contributions, whether for charity or any other purpose, needs to be approved in writing by a Northwest Dive Club Moderator or Admin prior to posting, without exception.

This added legalese is intended to make sure that we only have tasteful and appropriate solicitations on NWDC. While the Mods and I am a big fan of girl scout cookies, bikini car washes for food, your nephew's new braces, etc. - this is simply not the appropriate venue for some types of solicitations, regardless of how honorable the cause is, in general.

So, please contact El Capitan (via email) or one of the Mods before posting a solicitation of any kind, charity-related or otherwise.

I don't mean to cause ripples, but what counts exactly as a solicitation? If I say, "I'm gonna be in front of Safeway from 5-8pm on Monday with Chocolate Scuba Nomnoms, be sure to drop by!", is that a solicitation or announcement? What about "send me your orders for Scubanoms by Friday at 5, cost is $6 each."?

as long as the noms are free, it's all good. if you want money for your noms, run it by us first.

We *think* it won't be a problem. We only lost a few test goats in our trial runs. More than half of them survived with minimal side effects.

Actually I find this thread very beneficial... I will never have to wonder what the heck to bring to a club dive again
