Northwest Dive Club

Hi All,

I'd like to inform all of our members that Josh Smith aka "Nailer99" has just struck out to create a new business of his own, Crown Hill Construction.

As a result, Josh has a lot less availability to deal with NWDC-related stuff, and what time he does have for diving-related stuff, will hopefully be spent, well.... diving.

I want to be the first to congratulate Josh on starting a new business and also to thank him for the past few years worth of service he has given to Northwest Dive Club. Josh has done a lot more than moderate ugly threads and smacking down spammers who try to get past our tight security here , he has also been instrumental in making sure that we had a NWDC booth at the Northwest Dive Expo these past two years, and countless other things that are seldom seen or known by most people - but that, in aggregate, amount to a ton of benefit to our little 'POD' (as Sparky would call it).

Everyone, please join me in wishing Josh well in his new business venture and showing our collective gratitude for all of the time he has put into keeping this a friendly place for our dive community.

Er, I should have clarified... Josh will most certainly NOT be "leaving us", he just won't be carrying out Mod duties around the site like he has for the past couple-few years; he'll still be around these here parts, just in civilian clothes!

Thanks, everybody! Helping run NWDC has been an amazing experience for me these last.....uh....heck, I think it's been about 3 years, now. As Calvin pointed out, I'm not going away, I just don't have enough time to be an active Moderator on the site any more. It's actually harder than you might think, if you've never done it. Most days, it runs itself, but then, there are the other days...

My new business is starting off well, I think. Time will tell. Right now, it's just me, but I hope to add employees and grow over time- if anyone needs remodel/repair/ renovation work done, please feel free to ping me.

Anyway, I'm getting back into the swing of things after a long, dry summer. My goal is to dive as much as I can, while trying to keep my company running. I won't be able to make the upcoming club dive due to a long-planned weekend with my wife, but I hope to be at the next one.
