Video converters??
Video converters??
So my G10 saves video files in .mov format which windows movie maker doesn't recognize. Seems that most of the newer digitals are doing this. Why is a mystery to me. Guess that it must make smaller output files. Is there a free converter out there that won't put a banner on the converted files?

There are a bunch of free .mov to .avi converters you can find on the web but I found them to seriously downgrade the quality in the process. I have been quite happy with AVS video editor which wasn't free but saves in many different formats and the output isn't crappy. http://avs4you.com/video.aspx Cost me about $60

A friend and I produce a bi-weekly cable access show here in Portland. We've found Winff works very well and it's free. The best part is there's a version for windows and linux. Here's the link http://winff.org/html_new/

I have downloaded Bink & Smacker for free and I have problems with the files. I will try Winff.CaptnJack wrote:There are a bunch of free .mov to .avi converters you can find on the web but I found them to seriously downgrade the quality in the process. I have been using Quick Media Converter and it has worked great for me. It changes several different types of files to several other different types of files. http://www.cocoonsoftware.com

You can also search for a codec installer for your computer. This may fix the poblem.

Do you think that I can do the conversion with Adobe Premier Pro?MisterScuba wrote:You can also search for a codec installer for your computer. This may fix the poblem.
