bottle finding , and hunting for me is addicting , when you find a cool bottle on a dive , you get that sense of WOW factor , and that your discovering something from the past , and that it has a history . So thank you to everyone who has shared here , and Happy Hunting

Hey Tim,

Those weren't far out at all, maybe in 55' of water and more 'in town' than at Point Hudson. The ginger jar was so covered in barnacles it looked like a rock -- with a hole in the top.

After these big storms lately I can't wait to get back out there. Alas, it might be after Christmas before I'm back in town.

found this one the other Day while out on a bottle Mission , I found a really nice spot for bottles , and here is a ANTIQUE CANTRELL COCHRANE Belfast Dublin ...
Info : Dr. Thomas Cantrell established a business selling soft drinks in Belfast, Ireland, in 1852. Alderman Henry Cochrane became a partner in 1868, when Cantrell & Cochrane was established. The company made mineral water and medicated aerated water. Round-bottom bottles were made from 1869 until the early 1900s. Ginger ale, seltzer water, and medicated aerated water were sold in round-bottom bottles. Because the bottle had to be laid on its side, the cork stayed moist and didn't dry out. Holders have since been made to display the bottles upright. These bottles are sometimes called "ballast bottles" because they may have been used as ballast on ships. The Belfast company is still in business, now operating as C&C Group

Any ideas on these guys? I found the exact bottle here. https://picclick.com/Antique-KELLOGGS-W ... 03887.html

I just haven't cleaned my bottle fully yet to take good pics. Is it truly from the 1890's?

Thanks,

Rob

Here is a weird one I found the other night, at first we thought it was some sort of pipe but it doesn't have any hole in the handle that I can see. Maybe a weird gravy bowl or something???

One of my favorite bottles so far, just a cool story and a great name. Total "snake oil", they claimed it could cure all kinds of things including cancer, tumors and deafness.

It was about half full of some god-awful yellow crap when I found it (im sure it was partially the original wizard oil), it smelled horrid and im sure my wife loved me cleaning it in our front yard :supz:

Hello I found some information some time ago on "Washington Control Board" bottles that spatman was inquiring on. However I cannot see his pictures of the bottle as the link is bad. "http://spatman.com/bottle1/" Anybody have any info on these bottles? They are very similiar to what he describes in his post back in 2012. Thanks.

I almost left this one but the irregular bottom made me keep it and it was fun looking it up. Pre-Prohibition whiskey bottle, the Bonnie Brothers were born in the mid-1800's. More than you ever want to know about there business here:
