Harbor Defenses of the Puget Sound
Harbor Defenses of the Puget Sound
I'm sure many of us have visited Ft. Casey, Ft. Warden, or Ft. Flagler on our travels around the North Sound. I have always enjoyed exploring the remaining gun emplacements and other ruins at the parks. I thought I'd share my recent discovery of an online resource dedicated to the subject. The Coast Defense Study Group has an interesting collection of maps of the entire network of forts, gun batteries, observation posts, mine stations, etc. and some unit histories of the related US Army Coast Artillery Corps. .
