Seal Saver

Post by Grateful Diver »

That wonderful stuff that lots of us like to use on our drysuit seals ... I found out yesterday that McNett is discontinuing the product. So if you - like me - use the stuff regularly, stock up ...

It's just silicone lubricant, right?

Best benefit I've had for silicon seals is using baby shampoo on them when donning/doffing.

Thanks for the heads-up, Bob. We not only use it to preserve seals, we use it as lubricant for getting them on.

I use personal lube for donning my latex seals (Doc Intrepid)...use the seal saver just for saving...

every body should write a note to McNett. May not help but it sure couldn't hurt. I scarfed up 8 bottles for my scuba shed.

I wonder why they're discontinuing it, seems like a lot of people use it (myself included).

Mcnett also discontinued ankle weights about a year ago. They reversed that decision. They do seem responsive to feedback.
Trident makes a similar product, bu it is much more of a liquid . This is similiar to what Mcnett considers their replacement for Seal Saver, which is their small spray bottle of silicone.

Good to know I can swap out my wifes shine enhancer with seal saver - It'll save a ton of cash on her salon bill
