Some VERY cool 1960's and 70's videos were just added to the site. :taco:

What a great website, thank you Ms. James for posting this.

I watched the entire San Juan/Highliner video and I cannot believe that great quality is coming from 16mm! I mean 16mm was great in the day, but I've seen very few films that were copied onto a DVD format that turned out that good. That's good enough to be used in a documentary.

Thanks again, I'll repost this on VDH and VSS. :joshsmith:

Just watched the video that covers the equipment of diving....

I liked some of the comments they made about the early decompression meters:

"They were marginally accurate."

"If you wore more than one, they all read differently."

Yup, pretty much why they were known as the bend-o-matics. It seems back in the 70's and early 80's there was a movement in the dive community back to watches and tables. I've often wondered how much of a role the early POS decompression meters played in that mistrust of the early computers like the Orca.

When I started diving in the 80's,(1981, but not certified until 1987) you could always tell a "real" diver because they had a one way bezel on their dive watch. If you had a bezel that spun both ways, you just weren't up to snuff.....

So what your saying is that dive computers haven't changed much in the last 30 years. :)
