Lost camera at Alki cove 2

Post by scubamamacita »

Sebass lost an older Olympus C-4000 starter camera and housing by the honey bears last night.
If anyone stumbles upon it, would you mind retrieving and letting us know? Thanks so much!

Sorry to hear about the loss. One thing I have learned is write all your contact info on paper then take a pic of it. That way if someone finds it they can return it. Depending on its buoyancy it might have sank in place or is adrift.

I was in the Philippines in July and a guy who was diving with us took a selfie by removing the lanyard. At first I was wondering why he was pointing at me and saying take a pic, then I realized his camera was gone. Luckily the dive master surfaced and got a hold of the boat crew and they found it floating and retrieved it for him. He said the camera cost like $800 so he was happy to get it back. :penelope:

I stuck an address label with all my info on it inside my housing. I lost my camera in Bonaire, it was retrieved by a snorkeler on Klein Bonaire, traveled to Norway and returned to me within a few weeks. I added my phone number and e-mail address to the address label which made it pretty easy for the guy to contact me. I now also include a folded business card just in case the info on the sticker wears off.

Great ideas. We will have to wait to get Sebass another camera and housing.

Thank you for the offer! He's disappointed but we live on one income and unfortunately, we are not in a position to purchase another one right now. Maybe in a couple months?
