Happy Holidays

Post by Norris » Tue Dec 20, 2016 9:04 am

Just something I made a while back

Twas the night before Xmas, when all through the sound
Northwest divers were geared up and making their rounds

The Coves, Redondo, or perhaps the T-dock
3 tree, EUP, and sometimes Sund Rock

Their gear is still moist from the dive yesterday
but tanks are refilled and ready for play

Although there are many different flavors of diving
different agencies, gear configs, and some people striving

To be "technical" "team minded" or just to look cool.
we are all somewhat similiar, so dont you be fooled

The tranqulity of SCUBA and the zen of the deep
the wildlife and beauty that we get to see

The octo the nudi, the rockfish and seal
the shrimp and the gunnel, the occasional wolfeel

Even though we are leaking, and havent found that hole
We will still jump on in, even in the snow

As we feel that cold water slowly trickle in,
The fun of the dive, almost always will win.

"Ill get it fixed soon, perhaps in a couple days"
Yet they fill some more tanks and then they will say

"Meh one more cold dive I can certainly do"
as they load all their gear and decide to do two.

We are kinda looney, and unique tis for sure
gearing up in the snow, rain, and wind going "burrr"

we are family of sorts and hold our friends near
we help each other, dive together, and loan out our gear

No matter what training or agency is on your card
No matter what tanks, where you wear them, or CCR

SCUBA is the common denominator we all share
Exploring underwater, while still breathing air

So Ill see you around, at dive sites far and near
Happy Holidays to all, and to all a great year!!!

I'll take a stab at this too! Merry Christmas!

It begins with a whole lot of driving…
Finally, we cheer at arriving!
Grateful diver will be in the lot
He was talking about a lobster, type squat
How's the viz is the question
What's the lens for the session?
We put on our macro, and go
To the world down below
Stubbies, octos, lumpies! what to do?
Always something cool with the Thursday crew!
Jesse’s got a mirror
When you see the photos, you’ll be a cheerer
Stephen’s got a drone
Jess talks up Keystone (and Pickles)
Brad’s got a boat
And he doesn’t even gloat
H20 doc and Jeremy always making a roast
Epic videos they'll post
During the dive you’ll hear a squeal
Jess just saw a seal
Or was it a shrimp?
She’s not a warm water wimp!
Derek will be stalking a crab
His lights are certainly not drab
We meet many others in des moines:
DLH, Alex, Tall Mike, maybe Josh are the ones to join?
Kneedeep will come in his truck
Yup, Redondo is cooler than Muck!
We’ve got our original g’s!
They geek out like they’re diving Belize
Tom Nick, Bassman, and Jeff Castor
They’re each an epic toast master
And talk up Bonaire
Like it’s the Lord’s prayer
There's paul 1975...
So cool he proposed on a dive! (To mightmouse)
Sometimes we see Calvin
With his cooler+blender contraption
It causes quite the reaction
And post dive satisfaction
Wednesday crew is cool too!
The ‘knot is quite the todo!
We watch the tides like a hawk
To Whidbey, we’ll often flock
To visit master Jan
And dive Deception pass at dawn
Penders will vote for Day Isle
It will make one smile!
Wolfees, Octos galore
And the lumpies we adore
We’ll also dream of Hudson Point --
Good old Dusty’s joint!
From these posts so much to be learned
And many ideas spurned
Got question on gear?
Many (Camerone, gearhead, capt jack, Billz etc) will make it clear!
Got critter questions?
You’ll get no hesitations!
Need your photo fix?
Keith Boll, Deep Diver are in the mix!
Laura James always on some project
Showing us some new aspect
What a cool bunch of kids in this club!
They all dive then go to the pub
Gdog gets prime rib
Eric needs to wear a bib
Or we bbq with some crab
I’m tellin’ you this food is not drab
So many cool folks from here!
Let’s go dive and have a beer
Some we don’t see often
But when we do it is rockin’
So much fun to be had
You guys make me glad
That I spent so much money on gear
Look forward to another year!
