Our New Addition

I'm still reeling from the loss of Sirius. Of course, it's been less than a week. Still, chenari and I knew that part of the healing process would involve getting another dog. Since we had to make this trip to Boise, I think we made the most of it. Meet Jet.

According to the people we got him from, he's a mix of black lab and chocolate lab. Supposedly, both parents were papered; we really don't care about that. But my oldest daughter Naomi took one look and pronounced him "eighteen kinds of cute." I think she's right. He's about 2 months old, already housebroken, just starting to learn how to retrieve, and has already captured our hearts. We named him Jet on the suggestion of a Boise policeman who once had a dog by that name. The dog was so named, and this guy is so named, because 1) he's jet-black, and 2) he has the speed and maneuverability of a fighter jet, especially when you want him to go one way and he wants to go another!

We're looking forward to introducing him to all our NWDC friends just as soon as we get back to Washington with him, which is only a few more days. YAY!!!!!

Oh....too cute. Look at that face. Makes you just want to give him a big, cuddly hug! I look forward to meeting Jet at a future NWDC group dive event!

(Side note: I am curious as to how you happened to meet one of Boise's finest during your short trip. )

Super cool. The only cure that is guaranteed to help in your situation. He can't replace serious but you are starting a whole new adventure that I am sure will gladden your hearts for a long time to come. Glad you made the inevitable choice so soon.
