website help almost there!
i am in the beginning stages of putting together a business, and would like to buy a domain name so i can build a website. i am unsure how to go about this, and don't want to be taken. with as clever as you folks are, i figured i would tap into the collective intellect. any other words of wisdom would be appreciated as well.

I'm a big fan of these guys:
http://dreamhost.com/
They're cheap and incredibly responsive. The signup process will take you through setting up hosting and any domains you want.

Re: website help
The best hosting site I have seen for people without alot of errr ...geeky skills is hostgator.com, they have some of the best support I have seen from a hosting company and they are HUGE, not going to go under and take your business with them.
You can do everything, from finding out if the domain name you want is avalible to buying it and publishing your site, their cpanel (control panel for your site) is real easy for new users to get around and they have a ton of video tutorials... Good luck...

There as many opinions on this as there are people with websites... and you know what opinions are like... every one has one and they think theirs doesn't stink.
I've had really great luck with Siteground.com and Bluehost.com. Both provide comparable website control panels that even my mom can use (really). When it comes to support I've found the trouble ticket process with siteground to be prompt and satisfying.

Kat,
I can only speak as a website user but I like your site. The home page picture is cool and I like the use of a chart in the product background. The navigation is simple and intuitive.

looking really good, kat!
my 2psi:
order the nav in importance of item. in other words, what do you want your users to be primarily viewing? the things they'll be paying you $$$ for, right?
so i would suggest starting with:
products
services
then info about your products and services:
faq
news
then info about you:
about
contact
then other misc links:
sites of interest
sitemap

Re: website help almost there!
Overall it looks great! Love the background of the main site and the use of the maps behind the products.
The big suggestion I would make, as another has so keenly pointed out is to order your menu accordingly to importance and logic....
I would do the following:
Site map
products
services
faq
news
sites of interest
about
contact ( I always put this last when doing websites as it makes it easier to find in case someone wants to get in touch with you)
Best of luck with the new endeavor

Re: website help almost there!
These look very similar to some products offered by Deep Sea Supply, and if I remember correctly, Deep Outdoors offers them as well.

Seriously, I would do the site map first because alot of times people want to get to the main menu quickly in order to see what's on the site and be able to get to what they want faster.....
if your sitemap is organized well, you will have a much happier camper that will want to come back
