Salvo 21 watt HID for sale...

Post by Sounder »

21 watt HID with 9 amp NiMH battery (4+ hours burn). 1500 lumens, 6500 kelvin. It's in perfect working order with 25-30 dives on it, has been perfectly cared for, and fresh-water soaked & rinsed after every dive. I'm asking $900 (includes charger).

Sounder why are you selling your salvo. I thought you were friends with the guy, and had the homie hook up. wouldn't that be letting him down if you sell a light that you got at a good deal and didn't like. I assume the light was not cut out what you said it was? why else would you sell it? I am really curious Doug what made you sell the light that you said was the best one out there? #-o

did it flood?
is it to much mula?
is it to heavy?
is it the wrong color?
is it not halcyon?
is it to DIR?
is it to much light?
#-o :boxing: :dontknow:

(taking the "high-road")

No BJ, actually I'm not selling it for any of the reasons you mentioned. Salvo has a new 35 watt HID putting out 3000 lumens... and I want one.

Did it flood? Nope, Salvo lights are fantastic.
Is it too much mula? Nope.
Is it too heavy? Nope, I actually took weight off my belt when I got it.
Is it the wrong color? Nope, it matches nicely.
Is to too DIR? It's DIR. I'm not DIR and don't care.
Is it too much light? Nope, I want more.

The light is in perfect condition and could be yours for $900. It's an excellent price for an excellent light.

You will find Doug and I underwater by the trail of sea critters with little white canes and dark glasses.... :smt119 :rr:

(Actually, Doug is very careful about not frying the retinas of the poor helpless little critters!)

I'm having an even more serious case of light envy now! :smt065

Diver C just ordered a 35 watter and I CAN'T let HIM have more light than me! :pale:

Thanks Tom, yes I am very careful not to shine my light in the poor critters' eyes. It'd be hard for a wolfeel to use a red and white cane... now in contrast, an octopus wouldn't have a problem at all! :bounce:

It IS burning (color) at 6000 kelvin instead of 6500 kelvin too... I like that! \:D/

As a Salvo owner and lover, I must back up the light and the price at which Sounder is offering it. Compared to friends with other cannister lights, mine has had fewer problems. Plus, the one time I had a problem, the Salvo folks in Florida were Johnny-on-the-spot fixing it and getting it back to me. If I had an extra $900 laying around, I'd get it as a spare.

Last night I had a dream that I had a 35 watt 3000 lumen light. Then I woke to realize it was only a dream. :-({|=

For $900, I would buy the 21W if I didn't already have one.

The 35W will be twice the cost and I doubt it'll be twice as bright (it has twice the rated lumens, but i'd bet the perceived brightness is more like sqrt(2) or less).

I've been trying to justify the cost of the 35W just to win the pissing contest of the brightest light underwater and can't quite do it yet...

"Aye, aye Captain"

.....35W HID light blinds fish, renders it temporarily immobile.

Quick picture taken of motionless fishy.....

If only that would really work. \:D/

I sent Matt an email today inquiring about the cost of a 10w and a 35w. Way I figure it, the 35w would be good for pissing off your friends locally, and the 10w would be good for traveling.

That being said, I may hold off. Scooter. I need me a scooter.
