3.5cfm Scuba Compressor. Very Low Use

Post by lynchpit2 »

I have a near new 3.5cfm Coltri Scuba Compressor.
This unit has only had 1 set of filters worth of use.
The gas motor then sat for ~7 years so I had to have a new carburetor put on.
As this is not a Honda motor it is a bit cold blooded but once going it easily powerd up to 3300 psi.
I timed it to fill a 19cf pony bottle and it took right at 5 minutes which is 3.8cf.
You can smell the coating applied when new still cooking off the thing.

I just put 2 new filters in. One that removes only moisture in the first chamber, then a 3 stage with Molecular sieve to remove moisture, hopcalite to convert CO into CO2 and then activated Carbon.
It also has a CO2/Moisture indicator just before the fill whip.
This will pump E grade air.

I was going to use this as my back up compressor but I got one even better than my main compressor so I really don't need 3.
I bought a 3hp electric to install but it looks like there will need to be some modifications to the frame to mount it but that motor comes with it. I have $170 into that motor alone.
This is a 5000psi compressor, however it has a safety valve that is set to 3300psi so it will need a new valve plus a stronger motor, or the electric hooked up to go much higher.

If you are interested in it you can see the CL ad here.
