Hello all. Just passed my NAUI scuba dive course and will be looking to dive some easy dives for starters. Until I get my feet wet. I will be in the Philippines from April 20th to May 4th. I usually have afternoons available and once I get back I will know more about my availability. I appreciate any advice about dive sites around the Puget Sound Area. ](*,)

Pogi, it is a particular pleasure for me to escort new divers (I'm paying forward the grace that was shown me when I was new). Please get in touch when you are back in town, and I'd be delighted to do some dives with you.

Pogi,

I too enjoy escorting new divers although there are many more experienced divers here than myself. We typically like to go to Alki Cove 2 on the weekday. Let us know when you would like to come out. Check out the Pacific Northwest dive thread for information on good local dive sites.

Bassman and I do midweek afternoon dives (3PM) most weeks. We usually pick an "easy" dive site, and dive a conservative profile. We'd be more than happy to have you come along when you're back in the area!

dive charts

Post by pogiguy05 »

I know this probably sounds like a dumb thing but I know you all have probably dove so many times you could write the dive tables in your sleep. I just wish to keep my training current and document my experience once I get back and get wet with you guys. I know I have seen some who describe depth as say 40fsw and I assume FSW is Feet Sea Water???

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding!!! Mr. Rawlings... Tell him what he's won!!! \:D/

Yes, fsw means feet of salt water and ffw means feet of fresh water. No question is a dumb one.

This is the part where others will start chiming in with OTHER ideas for FSW and FFW... #-o

You mean like "French Sheep, Wooly" or "Frankly Silly Warbling?" How about "French Fried Way?" "Frisky Frilly Wizard?"

Surely I'm not the only one rising to this challenge... :book:

Frisky Frilly Wizard! That's it that's what that means! Oh man, thanks Valerie you are a life saver. I almost belived Sounder when he said it was feet of fresh water..

I kind of thought FSW was Frigid Sound Water.. And FFW was Frigid Funky Water....

Yes but the wolfies would be in the fsw.. So that would have to be 'frisky swiming wolfeels'..... right?

For Sgt. Pepper and Diver C, last night in Cove 2 it would be: Fighting Shrimp Wallops!

Ask Sgt. Pepper about the SUPER aggressive shrimp that chased after the both of them. I don't know what they did to that little guy, but he was POd! Diver C may have gotten some shots, but I think the shrimp was all up in his grill and such, so he may not have gotten a good focus on the beasty.
