Hey everyone

Post by zorb »

I am thinking about attending Divers Institute.

I like to stay warm. Looking forward to buying a drysuit, instead of pouring Earl Grey in the front of my 7mm.

If you're gonna dive here in winter, a drysuit is pretty much a necessity. Have fun at DIT ...

Talk to some guys that have been through the program, what it was like, and...most importantly, what the realistic job opportunities are after you graduate. It's not diving, it's working underwater, often in very challenging conditions with other compromises you want to look into.

Like Fritz said diving is only the way you commute to work. Diving is not the job. DIT will give you rudimentary working skills underwater. However, you will be much better off if you already have a skill they will pay you to do underwater.

I am glad I went to DIT even if I didn't stay with the industry. I still dive after taking a long brake. Something about making a hobby I loved in to a job.
