Can't Identify This Marine Mollusk

Post by Charles1910 »

Hi All,
I sighted this marine mollusk in one of my snorkeling videos and I can't identify it. The resolution of the still picture is not good (from 1080p video with a GoPro HERO 7 White). I've seen similar shellfish in scuba videos, but it is not common. Can anyone identify it?

Update: It is most likely dead. This may be a large piece of the shell. Bleaching may have taken place if it was brought to this spot with the tide from very shallow water. The shell club best guess was a Leafy Hornmouth. The spike on the shell, less than 1 cm in length, is a good clue to what it could be.
