BACK TO IT!! TO-DO LIST: gear, buddies, fun!!

Post by happydivelucky »

Hello I'm Georgia!

I live in Portland and visit Seattle friends a lot. I've been cert since 2001 and initially dove OR/WA quite a bit. I haven't had consistent partners, so it dwindled to 2 times a year on vacations. I had a horrible leg surgery in '06 that further delayed my goal of diving more often.

Now that I'm healed, I'm shedding all excuses!!

:hello2: I've always rented and never bought much gear, so any ADVICE on a dry suit & BC would be awesome! Innundate me please!

:hello2: I need dive buddies, and this site looks like a great starter! (Finally! Why didn't I find you sooner!!). Everyone really seems to care about each other, and that's awesome.

I said hello to you; say hello to me! :o)

Yea! Another Georgia on the board and they are both from the Portland area.

When Wylerbear (georgia) get's back from diving in some cool cave, you two will have to run into each other.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome to NWDC Georgia! ...for the second time!

A couple of quick searches in the gear section will bring lots of recent advice to the forefront - there have been a couple of great threads that are pretty recent.

You should have lots of Oregon divers to commute this way with if you're so inclined.

Hope to see you in the water sometime!

Hello Georgia, I'm Georgia, too!

I also live in Portland and go up to Puget Sound about 3-4 times a month to dive. I think we have to dive together sometime. Carpooling is always good.

Let me know if you want to get together and do a couple of dives.

OH how cool! The rumored Other Georgia DOES exist! Nice to meet you, I'll be pestering you for dives soon for sure! (From the looks of your doubles/pic you're way more advanced than me, however, so as long as you're cool with that!).

Take care!

I don't normally dive with doubles although after the last couple of weeks cave diving in Florida, they are beginning to seem more "natural". I dive recreationally, know most of the popular sites pretty well, and love to dive with all sorts of divers, no matter their experience. I'm also into photography and do fish surveys on all my dives so like to take it slow and easy-girl diving is what we call it.

Let's dive together soon.

Hey Georgia. Nice to have you here. Keep me in mind for carpooling to the coast or Puget Sound. I would do the Garibaldi dive with you but I'm out of town that weekend. Hope to dive with ya soon.

Cheers, Dave
