1st aid/CPR/AED/O2 provider

Post by CaptnJack »

I need to update all three. If anyone knows who's offering these weekends and/or evenings I'd appreciate hearing about when/where and how much. I'm in Port Orchard so Bremerton, Tacoma areas are best for weekdays. Weekends I can range further afield. Thanks, RJ

You can't do better than Valerie for these classes. She's not only got a great presentation, but more "toys" for teaching the class than anyone I know.

Richard, if you're interested, I can see if she can host a class at my place in Federal Way. I need to update them too.

I'm pretty well open for the remainder of the month.

Richard ... would that idea work for you? If so, choose a date that you're available and let's make sure it works for everyone else. The only firm dates unavailable on my calendar at the moment are March 5 through 13, since I'll be in Port Hardy on those days ...

Wow cool, thanks Bob/Val. With you being in Port Hardy early, and me being in Port Alberni at the end of the month it looks like the common free weekend days are the 20-21st. Is that workable?

Yes, sorry March! I am free either/both days and can help with arranging snacks, lunch and such. I didn't even look at tides but I'm glad we're not passing up good diving opportunities. :)

I'm teaching elsewhere on March 20, but the 21st is free.

John Rawlings has also offered to host for any north enders who want training.

Do you want CPR, First Aid and O2 only, or any additional classes? We can add in Advanced O2 & Neuro with just a bit more time.

Let me know any other questions or wishes. Bob (Grateful Diver) and Sandra (Hydro Girl) can let you know what we can get done in one day, including becoming a Dive Emergency Specialist (with Rescue).

I don't know Valerie, you come highly recommended, so are you recommending John? Cause I am in Marysville so a North End class would be more compatible with my gas tank...

I think she means "host" as in "do it at my house" just like Bob is hosting her at his house.

I need AED too, although I don't actually have one and I'd being following any prompts on one I grab off the box at Cove 2 or the airport, or the aquarium or wherever else the issue arises. Seems like alot in one day?

It's a long day, but we've done it before.

If it turns out we need it, we can schedule a second date to finish up.

Sunday March 21st then ... I'll pencil it into my calendar ...

Okay, let's set Sunday, March 21 as the day. I'll check my materials and order anything needed. Come dressed for comfort as this is very hands on (and fun!)

How about looking at April or May fir a north end class if there is interest?

For any of you "North-Enders" that are interested in these classes, as Valerie mentioned above I've offered her the use of my house in Mill Creek as a location for it. Looks like sometime in April or May....

Please respond here if there is interest so that she can get an estimate of how many students to reasonably expect.

I'm probably interested in classes later in the spring, keep me posted. I'd be up for O2 and Adv. O2, possibly Neuro too.

Sign me up for the North end one. My CPR card expired a long time ago, and I should get current.
