North End CPR/First Aid/O2 July 24

Post by Zen Diver »

So, I decided to start a separate thread for this class.

We'll cover CPR/First Aid/AED under the Emergency First Response (EFR) umbrella, then do DAN O2. For those want more I'll build in Advanced O2 and Neuro (one of the best classes). If you want to become a Dive Emergency Specialist (DES) I'll throw in the DAN AED cert for book cost only ($12.00). We cover the material during CPR/1st aid anyway so it's virtually no extra time. So, here's what you get:

- CPR/First Aid/AED
- DAN O2/Advanced O2 (I almost always combine them, adds little time doing them together and you get more knowledge and practical skills)
- DAN Neuro
- DAN AED

- if you have Rescue you will finish the day as a Dive Emergency Specialist. If not, the certs are considered "good" for two years, so you have that amount of time to complete Rescue to still earn DES.

It's a long day to complete all of them, but loads of fun and loads of knowledge. My classes always include all books, materials and some spiffy giveaways.

So far it looks like the following are keen:

-John Rawlings
-Pez
-Josh

Anyone else?

What's the cost and pre-req's? I get First Aid/CPR/AED cert through my work but it would be nice to have the dive related bits as well...

No pre-req's needed. CPR strongly recommended for O2, but not required.

Pricing:

The Whole Enchilada:
- CPR, First Aid, AED, O2, Adv O2, Neuro (which qualifies you for DES if you have Rescue) = $250.00
Taken separately all of these course would cost $330.00, so you're saving $80 by taking them all on one day.

Portions Only:
- CPR/First Aid only = $95 (includes EFR's AED)
- DAN O2/Adv O2 only = $120.00 ($30 savings)
- DAN Neuro only = $75.00

Pricing includes all books & materials and cert. fees. It's a really fun day and I can offer plenty of references :joshsmith: , feel free to PM me.

We'd need to start no later than 9:00 AM, but 8:30 would be better.

If you can send a $50 deposit I'll get your books out to you asap so you can have them ahead of time. It's extremely helpful if you've had chance to view the CPR/First Aid video ahead of time, as it will make the day go that much faster. PM for my address and which courses or package you'd like.

Did I miss the location? I'm not going to drive that far north, but, someone else might be wondering.

It's going to be at John Rawling's house- PM for exact location.

Val- my wife, Paula would like to do this as well- is there room for her?

We live in Mill Creek, about a mile or so off of I-5. I'll send the address and directions to anyone that signs up for Valerie's class.

i'm pretty sure he's pulling your leg, john. if you look at the subject of his post, it's missing the "Re:", which leads me to believe he edited it...
