Sidemount Info Night tonight in Vancouver WA

Post by Dive_Girl »

My apologies for the short notice, but it occurred to me that I have scheduled several upcoming free seminars/events that are appropriate to list in this forum! :)

Dan Robertson is giving a free Sidemount Info presentation tonight at Seven Seas Scuba. Dan is a PADI Tec Instructor, Sidemount Instructor, and our shop's Service Manager. He is a Master Technician by trade which gives him incredible mechanical experience to draw upon and is a natural fit with more gear intensive diving. Dan's presentations take on a very round-table feel encouraging people to participate in the conversation.

I just dove Sidemount this past weekend slinging two deco bottles anew in this configuration while assisting Dan with a Tec 50 class. I am always excited to gleem info from Dan's consistant research into better ways to dive!

As mentioned above, this is a FREE presentation about diving Sidemount. The presentation will be held at the dive shop (3200 SE 164th Ave., No. 216, in Vancouver, WA) from 7-9pm.

Too bad it wasn't Saturday ... Vancouver's a long drive for me on a weeknight, given that my day starts at 3:30 AM ...

Oh, I wish I'd been able to attend this! I wonder if he would consider doing such a presentation up here in the Seattle area?

We may be able to schedule Dan for another here in Vancouver in February in connection with our Wreck, Tec, and Rebreather mini-seminar day on Saturday, February 12th. Scott Boyd is giving the Wreck mini-seminar. Dan is giving the Tec min-seminar. Dave Tomblin, a Megaldon rebreather instructor from Canada is slated to give the rebreather mini-seminar. I can see if Dan would be interested in adding Sidemount to the mini-seminar line-up.

I will follow-up with Dan about his doing a presentation in Seattle. :)

Just talked with Dan and we are adding a Sidemount mini-seminar to the line-up on the 12th! In connection with his Tec mini-seminar he will be talking about his recent dive trip on the Warren Wreck (reference John Rawling's article in Advanced Diver Magazine). In connection with his Sidemount mini-seminar he will be talking about its application to local diving including his recent dive trips to the Titan 1 Missile Silo in Eastern Washington and Crater Lake at the end of last Summer with an OPB film crew.

oh man.. I really want to hear more about that Missile silo and slinging ( I have a 2 year goal to make that dive)

if Dan ever makes it up this way for chats I wouldn't mind kicking up some gas money.
