Waters not cold enough here? You want to dive under the ice :)
Rena

Drink water, breathe air. Never get these mixed up.

No reliable safe ice in WA, got to go to Idaho...
At one time one of the Portland area instructors was doing a trip over there with instruction annually. Unfortunately I don't remember their name now.

there used to be a guy Ken Dean. if I recall correctly he works for DNR or Washington fishing wildlife he's an instructor and used to do ice diving classes up by White Pass. I know ken is still around but I don't know if he's an instructor still or not

Do you know how to get ahold of him? I am willing to travel if I need to. Just finding the instructor to travel to would be nice

Might try Randall Fisher, owner of Scuba Fish in Spokane, he might be able to help.

I believe the instructor at Orca Scuba center in Wenatchee is a PADI ice diving instructor. I wanted to take this class but no ice thick enough this winter that isn't a two hour drive. If we do have enough ice on Fish Lake it would still take a class of at least four or more to make it work.

Really? We have a few prime locations over here that are used frequently.

One of the local shops just did one this weekend. We have our annual Ice Rescue/dive next month. The fire department normally has to cut through about 2' of ice. That is in N Central WA, Lake Conconully.
