Non-diving training?

Post by archisgore »

As I move up the ranks of dive education, I find a new itch to scratch. I don't know/understand my gear well enough. I want to know how Hydro works exactly. I want to know what a VIP is. I want to learn how to clean/rebuild my regs.

I know there are classes/courses for this sort of thing. I would love to be aware of any upcoming future trainings on such subjects.

Forgive me if I posted this in the wrong forum. Happy to move it elsewhere.

If anyone does a class on clean/rebuild HOG regs, I'd be in for that.

As for Hydro and VIP, unless you are going to get a PSI certification and VIP your own tanks, there isnt much sense in a class.

I just recently completed a HOG regulator rebuilding class.

I just recently competed a tank visual inspection class.

Scott Christopher teaches these.

Scott's great -- I did my HOG regulator service class with him, and Peter did his gas blending/tank service class. It has saved us a LOT of money!

if someone is organizing a hog class, I'd be interested in doing it as well.
I think you've figured out the root cause of your problems. Even sea lions get annoyed by splitfin divers silting out their dive sites. Switch back to your jets and you'll be safe from the sea lion silt prevention patrol from now on. - NWbrewer

I can teach it almost anytime. It usually takes 2 - 3 three hour evening sessions to complete the course.

What happened to your web page? I keep trying to visit and end up at a page labeled Dead Planet. When is the next hog rebuild class scheduled. I am in serious need of it. I was on your wait list for a while now....

LONG Story on the webpage! Defied is rebuilding it for me, but it is a slow process to get everything back together completely from scratch.

Anyone interested in a class should just send me a PM or email me at scott@soundaquatics.com and I will put together some dates for you.

I'm on Atomics regs now. But I'm interested in learning tank VIP and valve maintenance.
