Murky Waters

Post by Charles1910 »

:rawlings: Could anyone tell me why there is poor visibility in the shallows of the Sound this time of year? Plankton - Algae bloom - or what?

The summer sun promotes the growth of phytoplankton in our nutrient-rich water. Abundant phytoplankton supports growth of zooplankton. All that plankton makes our summer waters a bit turbid.
Confidence is the feeling you have before you understand the situation.
