SUNRISE, THURSDAY, AUGUST 13TH

Post by cardiver »

Keith will be out of town next Thursday and will miss this great opportunity to dive Sunrise again.
We will be meeting at 4pm and hiking down to the water at 430 to splash appx 60 minutes before slack at the north end of the Narrows.
This is a current sensitive dive so please make sure that you are here by 4pm so that we can splash on time. I look forward to seeing everyone next Thursday!

Well, I am hoping to make this one as things are getting back to normal again. I am sure that those at the dive shop are gonna call and tell me to come get my tanks. I left them to be filled and have not gotten down there to pick them up in about a 1 1/2 weeks now.Still need to have my wrist seals replaced.

I'd love to join you, but, it would be a really long surface swim from Bonaire.

That was definitely a map.
I don't know street names but it's easy to get to the site.
You take the second GH exit (Wolochet Drive)
At the stop light at the end of the off ramp continue straight thru.
You will drive down a long hill and end up on the harbor itself.
Continue left around the entie harbor. you will come to a stop or yield sign and you just keep going right, keeping the water on your right.
After you drive COMPLETELY around the harbor you will come to a "T" intersection with outdoor volley ball courts on your left.
Turn left and in appx 1 mile you will see a fire station on the right. Turn right here (you're almost there)
At the top of the hill turn right again.
Soon you will see the brown sign for Sunrise.
Turn left and head down the hill. You will see the entrance to the park on the left.

As a side note, If you map it in google maps and ask for directions, it will tell you to take 96th st NW but in real life 96th is not a real road between Crescent Valley Drive NW and Moller Dr NW (it's a dirt road with a gate at either end [-X ).

See y'all there!

For those of you that were interested in my cheap-o dive light, I posted the info in the gear central section.

http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php ... 15#p108915

I don't know how to link threads so i just pasted the whole address.

It was another great dive and I enjoyed diving with you all as well as hitting Tides afterwards...let's do it again sometime!

Happy Diving!

Matt
