Wow! Les was 5-10 fsw at 1000 this morning. Fox Island (West Wall) was 2 inches in the shallows and 10-15 fsw below 30.
Yeah, I was reading the other reports, and felt I had to post that. We had 15-20 easy at about 120' It was pretty nice, allthough looking up was better than side to side.

Funny thing was I stopped by LD to use the can, and asked a diver in there what viz he had, and said it was between 10 and 15, so I figured it would be a little better than that.

Sund Rock, south wall. First divers in the water at that location. Viz 30+ feet. Second dive was about 25.

Les Davis today noonish,,, :huge: 5 to 8 feet in the tidal area then deteriorating down the hill. Lots of ambient light but so much silt that it was hard to see more than 5 feet or so. Then as I was changing the river moved in and what there was went! :blackblink: :blackblink: :blackblink:

TTN on Saturday afternoon was almost tropical! We could see the surface from 50ft and horizontal viz was easily 30 ft. I think that I is the best that I have seen in the sound.

Both Les Davis around 11 AM and Redondo around 3 PM were excellent, as well. It was a very nice change.

Sund Rock 9-21 was a good 25' at depth. Even the shallows wasn't horrible... 10-15' and a bit silty because of wind generated waves. A few pics are here .

9-24-09 HoodCanal
Very clear from 0-15fsw.
Large white 'snot' chunks from 15-35fsw, but not silty.
Below that, vis opens up nice to about 20fsw.
Beginning of a bloom?

And $0.75 air fills at the AM/PM too!!!

Happy Diving!

I forgot to post, Wed,night dive at Les Davis. Viz started out at at LEAST 30 feet (That's how far our brightest light would travel). An hour fifteen in, the viz dropped to about 15-20 feet. Craziness.

Possession Point Fingers, Saturday 26th. On high tide slack. First 15 feet soup with 5' vis, opens nicely to 25-30 visibility below that.
