Looks like Scuba Toys is getting rid of their stock of Salvo Can Lights. http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detail.a ... l12WattLED

500.00 for 12 watts ? and only 750 lumens .. not worth it , How you going to get a warranty on that ... thanks for the news flash

Here is a little over 600 lumens at 95.00

and this light Rocks !!!! Skydiver has one and its very Impressive... to the point that I bought 2 of them

Hey Chris what is the difference between that one and this one?? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29069

More lumens, less money and no soft spot in the hotspot.

I just thought it was interesting. It seems that ST appears to be getting rid the Salvo stuff. I wondering what they are telling people in regards to warrenty and service work?

Hey dusty ... That is the same light , but uses the seoul P7 SSC chip ... NWBREWER is a big fan of that LED.. It would be a good Light shoot out to see which light is brighter ?

The P7 is brighter, mainly because it has better thermal management, and keeps the die's running cooler. It is however bigger, and has a wider angle of emission, so it works better with a reflector. The MC-E is smaller, with a more focused dome. Not quite as bright, but it also works better with optics, which means you can put it in a smaller lighthead. The other advantage of the MC-E is that it's not pre-wired, so you can wire it for either high voltage, or high amperage, or you can hit a middle ground. The P7 requires only 3.7 volts, but 2.8 amps which makes quality drivers hard to find, and expensive.

Both emitters use the same dies from Cree. I'm excited to see what either Soul or Cree can do with the new generation of dies, like those used in the XP-G. 1 amp, 350 lumens!! :zots:
