Nov. 12 Scapa Flow/DAN Internship Presentation

Post by gracefulc »

Join 2007 Divers Alert Network intern Christine Hankins at Seven Seas Scuba in Vancouver, WA at 7pm for a
presentation on the Divers Alert Network (DAN) Internship program and her experiences living and diving in Scapa Flow, Scotland!

Come support the Divers Alert Network Internship program by attending this FREE seminar with
first-hand accounts of diving in Scapa Flow, home to the scuttled World War I German High Seas Fleet, as well as countless other wrecks (including a U-boat!). Learn why this location is so important to the DAN Internship program and especially, why it is so important to Pacific Northwest Divers. This presentation will include first-hand accounts of each of the German Fleet wrecks, as well as photo and side-scan sonar images.
Your tax-deductable donations are welcome and will go solely toward funding of the DAN internship program! Help DAN continue improving diving safety AND learn about one of the best wreck diving sites in the world, all in one night!

RSVP's are appreciated so we have a rough head count. Seven Seas Scuba is located at 3200 SE 164th Ave., Suite 216 in Vancouver, WA; Reach them via phone at (360) 260-9969 or via e-mail at info@sevenseasscuba.com. Feel free to visit their website at sevenseasscuba.com for directions and more information! Hope to see you there!

This is a great presentation! Christine was at our store a few weeks ago and it makes me want to go dive Scotland. I have heard about the wrecks but she gives a lot of detail about what there is to see there. It is very facinating!

Christine did a great job with this presentation. Scapa Flow looks to be a really amazing dive site that DAN has used to conduct important research on DCS with regards to coldwater divers so it has a big significance to our dive population here. She had some really nice side-scan sonar pix of the wrecks and it was a lot of fun to attend. I'd recommend trying to catch it next time she gives the presentation.
