Viz at Tolmie on 3/11 was great in the shallows, but then once we dropped after a half hour surface swim, there was a lot of particulate with strange currents. Maybe 15 foot viz at best. But then again that's just one mans opinion. :dontknow:

Rockaway park on Bainbridge (Norrander's Reef) was ~20ft on Tuesday, before the windstorm hit.

The anemones are spawning!

I found a very nice vinyl scuba flag and alpha flag on the bottom. If the owner can describe 'em I'll mail them... Oh wait, that won't work. Ah well, finder's keepers.

Hoodsport, Wa.
A little murky from 0-15fsw, but then the viz opens up nicely to at least 30fsw+.

Sorry, Tom, I know you were looking forward to diving today. Hope the eye is better soon.

Redondo viz on Wednesday was a good 40'.

I got to dive with these conditions for my first OW experience. I was amazed at how clear the water was. Is this a normal viz range to see in Hood Canal? I was there on 3/12/10. Then the yellow house for the rest of the weekend with similar results for viz. Well after you got passed the student bloom that is.......... :hah:

Don't worry Tom, I'll keep an "eye" on the viz for you.... ;)

It can get that way a few times in the year, but not typical. Summertime blooms can come in within a few days and then it's gone, gone, gone....until you get real deep.
Here's a vid from that weekend you were there.

TTN, Monday the 22nd, 20' on the initial drop at a very low tide, improving to 30' at times as the dive progressed. Prob 25' average.

I'm diving so little these days I'm having nightmares that my schedule frees up and viz drops to 5' with our Spring blooms... :toimonster:

Hit Cove 2 this morning with Kirk and Uncle Pug and Nils and Peter. Viz was excellent, better shallow than deep -- probably 20 feet at the logs, 30 or more shallow with lots of ambient light. It's spring; the fish are back!

Did Redondo tonight, and the viz shallow was maybe 15, but by the carousel boat, it had opened up enormously, and in the bottle field, I don't know what the viz was except that we could see one another almost no matter how far we got apart. We could see HID lights at at least fifty or sixty feet apart. It was great!

Netarts, Or. About 1'-2' no matter how deep I went it didn't get any better, so I decided to stay in about 20 fsw. I got 1 crab and seen quite a bit of sea life. A few Sea Cucumbers, starfish, kelp crab, andTONS of yellow nudibranch with 2 little antennae coming off their heads. Not sure what they are, but they were cool looking.

Redondo this morning. Maybe 10' viz with a lot of schmutz in the water. Couple that with my primary delivering water instead of air and what I thought was just a bad seal of my dry glove turning out to be the wrist seal only haning on by a 1" section......
Not a great Easter dive......

The last thing I remember is someone yelled "I don't want a man underneath me again!" It all gets blurry after that.......

Thanks, Bric! I almost forgot about Keith's "spontaneous utterance".....
Maybe that's why I was so uncomfortable for the rest of the dive!
I think what he said, exactly was, " can you feel me underneath you"?
