Poor Gunnel

Post by PeninsulaDiver »

Sorry for the poor photo quality but does anyone know what's on this guys back? Some type of fungas maybe? He seemed pretty lively when I started getting too close.

Taken March 28th, Point Hudson.

It's a parasite of some sort but what ever it is it doesn't look like he will be around much longer. He looks to be starving.

I'm afraid I don't know - that purple-ish tinge to it looks similar to what the Blackbelly Eelpouts get, doesn't it?

Just looks ewwww.
