Haven't been to FIR before but I was at Cocoview (right next door) in October and had a fabulous time. Take some Skin So Soft for the bugs (or something). There are lots of no seeums, but not particularly worse than anyplace else I've been. Water temps were consistently in the lower 80's, they might be a bit lower now, but I was comfortable in my 3mm suit. Take a light with a small beam for looking into nooks and crannies, and perhaps one bigger one (like a C-8) for night dives; I wouldn't bother with an HID unless you are using it for photography.

Have fun!

I am going to Coco View in August (Group trip planned, PM me if anyone is interested in joining us) We always go to Cozumel but we wanted to do something different next year.

Question, for any of you who stayed at Cocoview, would you go back and stay there again? Most of the feedback I have heard is good but I talked to someone recently that said that he did not enjoy Coco View.

I'd go back to Cocoview in a minute. They were probably the best organized dive op I've ever seen, wonderful service from the staff, safety conscious but also let you dive your own dive. Plenty of rinse tanks for gear and cameras, ample gear storage areas, and the shore diving (the Front Yard) was wonderful. In fact, it was the Front Yard where we found seahorses, a spotted eagle ray, baracuda, mating squid, lobster, crabs, octopus, trumpet fish etc. The boats were stable and roomy. Great dive shop on the dock.

You can't go wrong with Cocoview.

Bob, that isn't really to keep the bugs off is it? it looks like a fix it for afterwards. Or am I missing something?
