Help With Bottle ID.

Post by cardiver »

I found this little bottle at 3 tree this morning. It's about 3" tall and has the marking "P S" or possibly "P 5" on the bottom.
I've had no luck finding an id on line.

My guess is it's an ink bottle. There were hundreds of ink manufacturers and suppliers prior to the mid 60's. It could also be an elixer or medicine bottle as pointed out by Doc.

Here's a site that might help. Not sure who the P and S are - Pendelton and Sons???

Good Luck

If it was a medicine bottle, it would likely have the volume molded into the glass in cc's or ml's. Again, the only things that used metric measure in those days were medicine bottles.

I feel silly for editing my post now, but I looked back and the only bottles with cc's and ml's on them are the military ones. Cheers...
