You know, Divernick, you just might be right! After I saw your post I looked hard at Calvin's photo (for the umpteenth time!) but this time I imagined that the blue eye was black.....and it seemed to fit. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it ends up being a Blackeyed Gobie.

Of course, I've already been WRONG on this one FOUR TIMES!!!! :-({|=

No, I'm not trying to throw you guys off, seriously! I thought this one was going to be rather easy. Does it help to know that this is a Canadian fish? :smt064

Are you guys getting as confused as I am? Let's not post any new ones if we have two (or more) un-ID'd ones outstanding. PLEASE let us know if someone guesses yours correctly and reward us with a photo of the fish!

Here's a recap!

#1 (me) - Red Irish Lord
#2 (Grateful Diver) - Decorated Warbonnet
#3 (Gillyweed) - Cabezon
#4 (John Rawlings) - Buffalo Sculpin (sing it wit me now!)
#5 (Calvin) - Scorpionfish
#6 (John Rawlings) Still up for guessing!
#7 (Grateful Diver) - Ratfish
#8 (Calvin) - Ling Cod
#9 (Tom Nic) - Still up for guessing!
#10 (Grateful Diver) Still up for guessing!

And just for the sake of ease, here's the current unguessed photos:
John Rawlings, #6:

And Grateful Diver, #10:

Hope this helps - let's get these ones ID'd before we post any new ones!

Bob is yours a salmon? I know it might be hard to take a picture of a salmon but maybe you didn't take the picture.

I did take the picture, and it's not a salmon.

Hint ... I took the picture on a night dive at Redondo ... and it's a fish you'll see there on almost every night dive ...

That would be a......NEGATIVE! \:D/

Remember the hint that I gave earlier - I said earlier that it IS a Sculpin of some kind.

I already guessed that ... and then remembered that sailfin sculpins have a large dark stripe through their eye.

I'm gonna guess that it's a scalyhead ... and now that I'm typing it, I think I already guessed that too ...
