Congratulations are in order
Congratulations to Kathryn Arant and Scott Lundy for their wins in the Dive Expo photo competition! Kathryn got second place in the warm water wide angle division, for a beautiful cave shot, and Scott won the video competition with his clip of the wreck of the Louie. They didn't tell us WHAT they won, but the list of prizes was pretty inspiring.
There may be other NWDC folks in the winners list, but those were the two names I recognized.

Yay Scott! Glad we got a chance to see the video at the photo workshop.

Woohoo! Congrats! Are those pictures/videos available on-line?

Awesome! Big Congrats Kathryn and Scott.
While watching the slideshow at our NWDC booth all I could think of was how amazing it is that we have so many talented folks among our ranks. It's really neat to see people's development as u/w photogs over time. Scott has really come a long way and his work is very inspiring. I can't wait to see the shots that come out of the new rig. Also, Chris Borgen makes it look way too easy - his first shots were way better than they should have been. I'm still scratching my head on that!

Thanks for the kind words everyone
The video can be seen at: http://www.raptureofthedeep.net/videos -- it's the second video on the page entitled "Diving the Louie"
Thanks to my dive buddies Bdub and Madison for looking so good in the clips, and special thanks to Richard for finding and dropping us on her. When we first dropped on the target, we assumed it would be a drydock -- as we got to the bottom, the 6 cylinder diesel staring back at us suggested otherwise

Yes, congrats to everyone who placed in this year's competition! I am pretty sure I saw Jan's name under several photos. The slide show went very fast so it was difficult to register name/category/photo.
BTW - Great video! Well deserving.

Also, congratulations to Jesse Miller (aka: Scoobie Doo) on his 1st place in the Cold Water Close Up and 2nd place in Artistic/Creative! However, I'm taking full credit for finding the critters for him...well, at least for navigating him back to the beach...well, okay...at least I didn't silt up the place...

Thanks Mike! There were some great photos in the competition. What an honor to be selected amongst such established photographers! Here are a few of my favorites. All the photos were good but these are amazing (IMO). PNW UW photographers that have tried to shoot lumpies, sea spiders, and warbonnets know how challenging and incredible some of those shots are! Hopefully, you can dust off your archived photos are submit them next year

Congratulations are in order
Good question. I have been asking since they notified me a couple weeks ago. I think they will show them in the next magazine. They showed them at the expo but the slideshow was so fast I couldn't remember them.
