Update. Divers on Blake Island Reef. Big exchange. Heavy current towards the wall. Good visibility. Thought diver may be hung up in the reef. Area searched by local and SDF Divers. Unable to locate. Scene downgraded to body recovery. SFD divers out of the water.
Re: Another missing diver. Dive off of Blake Island
from komo, identifies the diver as a spearfisher diving with 3 other divers:

Not good. Here's hoping he's wandering down the beach on island or something...

I have a feeling the one in Edmonds will turn out to be the same cause.

No prob. I'm feeling awful about both of these deaths. And also another one I heard about over on Deco Stop, the same weekend. Wasn't a good day for divers, I guess. All 3 deaths seem eerily similar.H20doctor wrote:thanks josh.. I didnt see the link ..

Re: Another missing diver. Dive off of Blake Island
I didn't know Guy and he wasn't on this board to my knowledge, but I imagine I would have enjoyed his company. Guy being only a few years older than me makes me want to appreciate life more while I can. RIP Guy
I saw the recovery efforts from the Vashon ferry last weekend and the Seattle FD, Tacoma FD, Navy and other diver response was impressive. I am glad they found his remains for his family.

This update and funeral info says it all. I knew Guy personally. We were in the navy together, speared lots of fish together, spent lots of time talking about the navy, hunting, spearfishing and life. He will be missed, he was a Deep Sea Brother.divecanuck wrote:Update and funeral info - http://www.pnwlocalnews.com/kitsap/nkh/ ... 20528.html
Dave Bradbury and him discussed the dooms day prediction before the dive that day. Guy responded if it did happened he would go doing what he loved, with the people he loved.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your friend, another member of the dive community, and a person that seemed to be pretty good human being in general. I am glad that he was doing what he loved, with his friends, and I hope that softens the loss a bit amongst his friends and family. Hugs to all of you.
