Found: Anyone lose a regulator?

Post by RDW »

Found today at Redondo: One lonely regulator w/octo and console (Rental unit?) looking for
its owner. Found it sitting on a bench near the heads next to the steps.
I have it. You describe said reg and it goes back to its rightful home. You can call me: 206-387-6749
I will be at the Marine Science Center around 10AM tomorrow.

Nobody has come forward looking for this regulator that was found at Redondo on Friday.
They may not know about NWDC. Pass the word that I have it. I'll hang on to it for awhile.
after a month or so, I'll decide what to do with it. I don't need the reg. I'm going to call around the shops today
(Monday).

Randy,

Our rental units have red hose protectors (some look dark orange) and should have matching numbers on the 2nd stage and consoles. I do have 3 checked out currently from last week. On yoke there may be a stamp. Either FS10 or FS2. Those are the ones "still out".

This reg does not appear to be a rental reg. None of the stages match each other.
the first stage is an older Dacor piston model.
Somebody must be looking for their regulator. A good reason to not wait until the next weekend to unpack your gear from the previous weekend.

It's not going anywhere. I do not need another regulator set around here.
I have 16 deco regs, 3 O2 regs, 2 sets of doubles regs and a reg set for a single rig. Plus the regs for the CCR's and the Argon stuff. Oh yea...plus the wifes gear. Plus, 1 OTS Guardian FFM, 1 older AGA mask...and my ol' friend, my Miller 300 bronze hat.
Ah...the simple joys of being in the dive biz.

+ 1 for the Miller hat. Great hat saw it save a guys life once. He would have been a goner in a KMB hat.

Yea! My Miller saved my noggin too.
In the mid-'70's I was working for a Santa Fe in LA. We had a job on a pipe lay barge. Only in about 40ft of swampy water.
In violation of the safety rules, a guy was working on high pressure manifold above my bubbles. He dropped a 24" pipe wrench right on me. It hit me on the top-left side of my Miller hat. Took a big gouge out of the metal of the hat. It rung my bell! You coulda heard me cuss a blue streak over the comms in the next Parish! I was coming up the ladder fast as the super was trying to keep me from going after the wrench guy. No injury to me. But I never did find the worker who dropped the wrench. I went right back in the water. Being out of the water does not pay.
