Plane sunk to create artificial reef in B.C.

This is old news, but there was a program on, I think, the Discovery Channel last night. Interesting show. Looks to be a boat dive, but would be fun to go to as a club dive if we could find other places to shore dive around the area.

SP...I haven't seen "Sinking Wings" yet but I hope to catch it soon.

The diving in the area is AMAZING. There are some old shipwrecks and beautiful natural reefs to dive. In fact, depending on how much air you have, there is a wall close to the 737 that you can dive after you spend 30 minutes on the plane.

Peter and 49th Parallel Charters are great and can take you on a 1 tank boat dive of the 737 for $50 CAD. It makes a great add on if you are up in Nanaimo diving. Peter is a great guy and he can tell you all about the diving in the area.

If any of you are interested, Andy Lamb just opened a small resort close by the 737 plane. He is going to be doing a presentation at A-2-Z on April 24th. He is planning on talking about the area, including a little about the plane. My husband and I are planning on going up in late June to dive the area a little more.

I'm heading up to Andy's new resort in April. I'm really looking forward to it! I've been an admirer of Andy's for a long time.....ever since I picked up his first book.

The resort looks beautiful! Check out the web site: http://www.cedar-beach.com
