Mystery critter

Post by fnerg »

So today at Cove 2, while on my safety stop, I saw a critter that looked sorta like the mantle of a stubby squid without the tentacles or eyes, but with really long, flapping wings. It was tiny, about the size of a small lumpsucker.

I'm guessing some sort of nudibranch, (It definitely was not a hooded nudibranch) but I have absolutely no idea what it was.

Did it look like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev_dpBJiRyI

That's the Pacific wingfooted snail, or sea butterfly. Cool creatures.

Love the description- never thought of it that way, but that's exactly what they look like!
