All divers need to know about the Invasive tunicates that are starting to appear in Hood Canal and Puget Sound. Recreational, tech and commercial divers all are in a perfect position to help locate outbreaks and appearances of the three tunicates that Washington State has its eye on and is trying to control.
So, what can you do?
Glad you asked!! (Oh wait...I guess *I* asked that...)
Come to one of my training sessions I've got scheduled! The Puget Sound Action Team recognizes the importance of the dive community being trained about these invasive tunicates, so they're contracting with me to go around to various dive clubs and groups to teach y'all! Yippeee!
The workshops last a bit over an hour, and you'll learn what's native and what's invasive. And I promise a bit of fun is involved too!
Let's give these buggers a run for their money!!!
This week I'll be at Sound Dive in Bremerton on Tuesday the 20th, and at the Boeing Seahorses Dive Club in Kent on Thursday the 22nd. Let me know if you'd like to attend either workshop.
More are scheduled here:
