Possible ciona savignyi at Cove 2

Post by fnerg »

I think this might be a Ciona Savignyi, seen at Cove 2 on the pilings near the Honey Bear:

Is there a process for reporting these, or should I just do a REEF survey for cove 2, and leave it at that?

Yes it is. Report to Janna or wait a day or so. There are people certified to remove them on the board they will probably respond. The ciona have been showing up at Cove 2 for quite awhile so it's an ongoing thing not something new.

It definitely is a Ciona. I agree, tell Janna about it, but you'll also want to include it in your REEF survey. When you report it to Janna, you'll want to pinpoint the location as closely as you can, and include the depth it was at, and the water temp if you have it.
