REEF's #1 West Coast Surveyor lost at sea

Kawika Chetron, the #1 REEF surveyor for the West Coast, went out on his boat Saturday and never returned. :( He frequently dove solo off his boat.

It's been a week now and he's not been found. A very good article with photo has been written up about him here:

I have never met him but only heard good things from other REEF surveyors in California that I knew who knew him.

wow; what fantastic photos. it's nice to see some "cold water" pics of that quality. seems like the guy had a great sense of humor.
