It is NOT your fault!! I have NEVER been able to post pictures here with a link from Flickr. ](*,) I use Flickr for hosting most of my images, but it doesn't work for linking them to this site.
On Nailer's recommendation I use: http://www.imagecave.com for any pics that I want to link to on the site.
It seems to work just fine: http://www.nwdiveclub.com/viewtopic.php?t=1657
Wylerbear, I would just post the links here without the IMG tag and we can go to Flickr and look at them! I want to see your pics!

Do none of them upload? You could resize them in a photo editing program then upload them.WylerBear wrote:I went to imagecave first based on Nailer's recommendation but it seems almost all of my files are just a tiny bit too big and won't upload. I'm getting frustrated!!!!!!!
Mine are apparently right at the edge, but imagecave will accept them. Once I upload a picture to imagecave I then resize it. Hit the "modify foto" button at the bottom of your image. I then change the top resolution number to 500 and the lower one adjusts automatically. THis creates a file called "file name - copy.jpg". I then delete the original. I click on the newly created file, copy the URL, and use it in between the img buttons on this site and it works fine! Don't give up! We want to see your pics!
I don't know why the images will not post in this thread. If this thing was operating correctly the image should post.

Alright Calvin. I'm not exactly sure how to post a report on a blog, but I'll give it a shot when I have some time.Calvin wrote:Terry, feel free to add your thoughts or post a short trip report on this blog entry I just wrote about the current conditions down in Cozumel:

You'll be doing other divers who are planning a vacation a big favor!

A couple of pics from the new Casio camera. Taken on the day after the camera arrived at Redondo.

Those are great shots Tim! Poor Sponge Bob. Apparently Patrick left him to go eat or something. Probably harassing cabezons, and eating their eggs. Those darn pesky sea stars.

I ran into David at Cove 2 the other night and he told me he had gotten the Casio w/ housing I first wrote about, and was happy with it but also had some problems and questions for me. Also, TCarter asked me a question about o-ring replacements for the EWC-80 housing, so I thought I'd post this here.
- You can buy o-ring replacements directly from Casio by calling their parts department at 1-800-223-2001. They cost about $6.50 apiece and it takes a few weeks to arrive after you place the order. The o-ring in this particular model is very soft and flexible, which is good for removing and cleaning, etc. but that also means it stretches out and needs to be replaced more often than the stiffer types (such as Canon).
- Also, since so many of you NWDC members bought this system, and many of you like it or have questions, I've opened comments on my original blog entry about the camera/housing. I'd love it if you post your own impressions of buying and using the Casio camera and housing, as well as post any questions you might have about it, so others can benefit from the answer(s).

I had a Canon Powershot SD100 and never used a strobe with it, the Canon housing had a removable diffuser and it worked fine for most of my shots! It was a 3.2mp and camera and housing retailed for less than $500. You can get a housing from Canon for less than$200 for most Canon cameras excluding SLRs. I found myself shooting macro most of the time here and did just fine with no strobe. All pics on my website were taken with this camera setup.
Thanks for the o-ring info Calvin. I took the Casio out for the first time at Harper Dock today, pic's are posted here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7506674@N04/. Nothing too spectacular, but for my first effort at underwater photography I'm satisfied. The camera seemed easier to operate than I expected, my drygloves and thin liners provide plenty of dexterity to operate the button cluster. I will try to post a review on your blog later.

Nice first shots. I ID'd some of them for you. I think I got them all right. The Painted Anemone, I am not 100% sure on. I think you will find that as you take pictures, that you will start to want to ID what you are taking pictures of, or maybe if you start to know what you are taking pictures of you will want to take more pictures.TCarter wrote:Thanks for the o-ring info Calvin. Either way, it sure adds to a dive to know what you are looking at. There are a couple of posts here about great ID resources. Whelks to Whales is a cheap pretty good beginner one to start with.
