Gas Bauer Utilus for sale

Post by DontPokeTheBear »

Hey guys we're phasing out some equipment at our gear locker. Up for sale is a 1989 gas bauer utilus 10, low hours and very well maintained, asking 2400.00. Also, I have a very large singlephase 20cfm jordair compressor mid 80s with the bauer k20 block, it has a final seperator but the filtration is on our current setup so it is not included. Asking 5000.00, I have an interested party so this might not be available. If you need some K size(the largest) owner bottles for oxygen/helium/argon I have 20 of those, all are out of hydro, but it doesn't matter you can rotate them in at central welding or airgas, asking 180.00. I have a bunch of other stuff I havn't gone through yet as well, I'll post it when I get to it.
Pictures available upon request, if the equipment doesn't sell here or locally I will list on craigslist/ebay, thought I would give you guys first dibs. About me, my name is Bernt (everyone calls me Bear) I might have met a few of you for those who frequent Tacoma Scuba, VP The Undersea Co, DBA captain jacks www.cpt-jack.com, based in Port Townsend, WA. Thanks for reading!

they say bigger is better. Had an option of a 16in filter, or a 33in filter. Not sure if there's such a thing as too much filtration... :)

There is actually. It happens when you don't pump enough gas to use up the filter within its shelf life.

Pumping trimix via continuous blending you get quite a lag in output concentrations with oversized filters. Its not sure a big deal with nitrox.

True for tri mix, but I'm no where near that need yet, or ever may be. I dunno. But this is being setup for nitrox blending, with mix block, o2 analyzer, and O2 tank. Not much effort to convert to nitrox, so seemed a good idea.

Just chuck the filter at least annually even if you've barely used it. Big filters also take awhile to get up to pressure, but that's generally not a big deal.

CBing with synthetic oil.
25 to 50hrs depending on the size of the sump. The oil's doing alot of work, its not going to hurt to change it more often.

Be sure to change the filter at the same time so you have a fresh AC bed to catch any nasties offgassed from the new oil.

I don't think any of them will fit inside your backplate.

Casa de Scuba almost complete. Get 220 and 110v to it,and done.
