Nipple sponges at Day Island

Post by YellowEye »

Hi. I found these nipple sponges at Day Island this morning, I thought they were pretty cool. I didn't know they had nipple sponges in these parts, but maybe I missed them!

I can't remember having seen them at Day Island, but I've seen them in other current-intensive sites like Waterman's and Davidson Rock. They're cool!

Nice pic showing them off with the crab. Where about? One the wall? N/S, Depth? Just curious.

When I first read Nipple Sponges, I had a totally different mental image.. :)
=============================================

- I got a good squirt in my mouth
- I would imagine that there would be a large amount of involuntary gagging
- I don't know about you but I'm not into swallowing it

Hi
They were found along the top edge of the wall, just a bit south from the cutout on the wall perpendicular from the shore entrance. Where there's the small ledge that runs parallel just above the main wall.
