Newborn Wolfie!

Post by dwashbur »

The quality isn't anything like what Laura is likely to put together, but this is my contribution for what it's worth. Kathy and I along with Laura James, John Clark and some other friends, headed out to see the wolfie eggs. And oh, did we get more than we ever imagined, because the mama wolf eel squeezed out a couple of brand-new hatchlings while we were there and we got to watch them for several minutes. It was one of the most incredible, once-in-a-lifetime sights ever! Sadly, none of us had unlimited air so eventually we had to head in. But on the way we came upon another amazing sight: a nice Dendronotus rufus laying an egg ribbon. This was easily one of the best dives I have ever had, and getting to share it with friends both new and old made it even better. Thanks, gang!
