What's your favorite SHORE DIVE???

Post by Dave »

My favorite shore dive hands down is Sunrise Beach!!!!! Last time Ryan and I dove it we encountered 5 or 6 giant Pacific Octo's and the same number of wolf eels including a juvenile. The wall is incredible and covered with life from assorted nudis to scallops, all types of anemones, amazing plants , sponges of several varieties schools of fish. Yeah, no doubt the best shore dive in my book, well worth the hike!!!!....what is yours???

Well as I dont have a boat I would have to say the next one. #-o

thats not what you ment was it..

I dont know man tough question
I would say it would be a toss up between
Neatarts Boat Ramp

A nice shallow dive with lots to see ( Ill do a wright up on it soon )
so I get lots of bottom time. And some times a few crabs for the Wife's Dinner
this is my favorite oregon dive so far

My favorite Washington Shore dive would have to be
Edmonds Under water park
there is alwasy some thing new to see the group of divers that work on the site keep you busey trying to see everything.

and the critters are like nothing else I know its because they are protected there and they get huge amkeing this a grate dive inspite of the long surface swim

But I stillhave not dove a lot of places I wanted to try.

Ya Dave tell us how refreshing it is, to do that as a shore dive!

OK, we're all showing eachother our "Hotwheels" collections, and Calvin drives up in a Ferarri! The fact that it's closed by the Government, and even if we had the time and money to go there, we couldn't do it , kinda seals the deal!

Those are some amazing pics, Calvin!

Hahaha, Ok, I will put away the Ferrari. My favorite local shore dive is... *gasp* Cove 2. Yep, though I'm getting very tired of diving there, this is the most convenient staging area, the most spectacular view, has great facilities nearby and the dive site itself has a variety of stuff to see - including those friendly seals and the occasional octo. Not to mention that Alki itself is a nice part of town.

Ok, there, I said it. Ya happy?!!! :violent2:

I will echo Bassman's appreciation of Titlow. Always lots to see, easy access, and Steamer's restaurant for after dive relaxation!

That being said, I'm still a relative newby with 27 dives (but who's counting?!?), so I've still got LOTS of time to explore new sites in our great Pacific Northwest! :supz:

And I will also echo the entire dive club's bitter jealousy at Calvin's world travels! Maybe someday we'll get to do 10% of the cool dives Calvin has! :-({|=

Octopus hole is rad but only because of the sheer mass of the wall. But sunrise is my favorite, and I like Dave think it is worth the walk and rush of packing 100 freakin' pounds of extra gear. Plus my Girlfriend can do the hill so I kinda have to, can't have her one up me.

If I hadn't met her I'd have thought she was :naka: , but in actuality I know she's a sweetheart who knits you ankle weights and dives like the rest of us, plus.... she uses a Mac =D>

Favorite shore dives

Post by John Rawlings »

Well.....if we can get off the subject of the length of girlfriend's legs (hee hee) and back to discussing shore dives (ahem) I have a few geographic favorites:

North Sound: Keystone Jetty, followed by the small pier just down the shore from the jetty for dive 2.

Central Sound: The Edmonds T-Pier....followed closely by 100-Foot Rock or the Mukilteo Walls.

Sound Sound: 3-Tree North, followed by Redondo South.

Straight of Juan de Fuca: Salt Creek County Park and Sekiu Jetty.

San Juan Islands: San Juan County Park or Lime Kiln County Park.....oh, yeah, and Reuben Tarte beach!
