Cove 2, Wednesday April 18, was pretty murky. The shallows were downright bad -- maybe 5', max. Down to 65 feet, it never got better than a hazy 10, although some friends who went down to 95 said it got somewhat better there. It's Spring!

Way to be over-dramatic. I got this one Ron...

Redondo 4/26/12
Viz at 20' = 3'
Viz at 40' = 3.25'
Viz at 60' = 3.5'
Viz at 80' = 3.75'

Alki Fishing Reef: Saturday, Apr 28 10 AM: Snotty from 0-30 fsw, opened up to about 15 below that.

PB4Y: Sunday, Apr 29 1 PM: 3-4 ft viz to about depth of 30 or 40 ffw. Couple levels of haze down to 150 ffw. On the wreck, about 10. (Better than average!)

Alki Cove 1: May 1, 7:30 PM
Visibility from 0 fsw to 120: 0-4 ft

We were trying to scoot to the MT6 off of Salty's. Viz at the surface while attaching deco bottles was pretty good! This dive is going to rock! We start out. 20 ft: Wow, this really sucks. It'll open up. 40 feet: where is my buddy, are we lost? Oh there he is. 60 feet: This should open up any time now. 90 feet: this should open up any second. 120 ft: where is the line? Where is the bottom? Did my light just fail? Nope! You're IN the bottom! There was JUST enough visibility to issue thumbs in declaration of "waste of trimix."

Junkyard - mon, tues, wed.

Vis 10-15' down to 68', a bit snowstormy. Opening up to almost 20 at times today. Fine for scootering ;)

Cove 2 tonight . . . Well, suffice it to say that my third buddy was a suggestion of his former self, on the other side of our middle teammate. When a 21W HID is a dim glow six feet away, the viz is fairly poor.

Vis seems to be looking a little better!
Three Tree N. on Thursday 20-30 feet at the Bottle field. (100+ fsw)
At about 20 or 30 fsw = less than 10 feet of vis.

Junkyard, 15' vis deeper than 20' on the lower low tide. Up in shallows it was pea soup, I could not see past my scooter shroud.

Better vis at all depths when water came back.
