Anyone NOT crabbing this weekend?

Post by Jeff Pack »

Wouldnt mind doing the Muk again, but probably crab hell there, Hood Canal (flagpole, Jorsted, Octo Hole,or Sund), Les Davis, Redondo (havent been there in many many months), 3T, I'd like to do SaltWater, but have never dove there. Open to most anywhere I guess other than Cove 2, been there too much lately.

I don't think crabbing is allowed at either Octopus Hole or Sund Rock, since they are designated conservation areas.
...I like going to the chamber.. They have great food there, and awsome live music "H20doctor"

Tides look good this sunday morning at Saltwater State Park. If you want to do an early morning dive, we could meet at 8, and splash at 8:30am.

I havent really looked much at SW, is it current sensitive? (I will right after this), I generally prefer to do 2 dives on the 1 day I actually get to dive.

Yeah, it can be pretty current sensitive, and the reef structure is a ways from shore. Walking back to the entrance among submerged rocks and logs is a pain in the butt too. I usually do one dive there and call it good.

How bad are the rocks and logs? Last thing i need is to bugger myself up crawling over logs and rocks if I dorkmissile and fall.

My rebreather class is next weekend.

You only have to clamber over submerged rocks if you get caught in current coming back, and get blown north. There's some logs on the beach to climb over, but they're not too bad.

Yea, we could scooter out there and save the surface swim.

But I'm willing to go, sounds like fun.

Jeff,
FYI the gate might not be open until 8am anyways.

Depending on the tide, you'd better hope your scooter will work in 6 inches of water!

I won't be crabbing because I'm in Boise visiting my daughter. Hoping to dive, but they have mostly mud puddles around here...
